A MODERN DAY MYSTIC
A Shift in Perspective
My name is Myrna, and I am so glad that you are here.
I bet you’re wondering about the title of this website. Many people have asked about it. Certainly when I began tossing around ideas, I shied away from it. What does the word mystic mean, anyway? The word conjures up images of men in dark robes, stirring vaporous substances in huge cauldrons. That is definitely NOT me. I live in the suburbs. I drive a car. I have an iPhone. And an iPad. I worked in the business world for 20 years. Definitely not me.
The word, mystic, kept coming up, though. In dreams, and daydreams. Out of the mouths of friends. The Oxford Dictionary defines a mystic as “A person who seeks by contemplation and self-surrender to obtain unity with or absorption into the Deity or the absolute, or who believes in the spiritual apprehension of truths that are beyond the intellect.” Those words certainly hit home for me. My personal translation is that a mystic is one who chooses to see God/Our Creator in every person, in every situation, and every experience; and who recognizes that there is a Divine Plan, and an interconnectedness to everyone who has lived, who lives now, and who will live in the future.
My personal path has been one of continual awareness of God. I have been seeing the spirits of people who have passed on, since I was 4 years old. For a really long time, this seemed like a burden. An inconvenient gift. Trouble with a capital T. But, as I continue to evolve, to grow, to learn, I am finally able to understand the great blessing that God has bestowed upon me.
I believe that more people than not have had a mystical experience. Whether you’ve had a chance encounter that changed your life, a near death experience, or a moment of perfect clarity or communion; a moment filled with purity and ecstasy, you’ve encountered the intervention of God in your life. To me, that’s what defines a mystic.
The path of a mystic, then, is to take the experience of union with God, and to let that define your choices, define yourself. It is a path of faith, of evolution, of learning, of being. This is the path that I follow. And I want to use my gifts to help others see their connection to the entire Universe.
I’m glad that you have chosen to visit me at A Modern Day Mystic. You are very welcome here.

Embrace Life’s Challenges
Unanswered questions, unresolved issues and conversations that we wish we had made time for, are common themes in our lives. Emotional hurts stymie our attempts to forget about the past and live a happier life. It certainly seems that we encounter the same types of people or situations, over and over, in our lives.
Our time, during this session, is designed to help you understand and achieve healing with the people and circumstances in your past and your present. This session is about achieving a new, clearer perspective by embracing and gaining a fuller understanding of the WHY? things happened in our lives.
LIFE PATH SESSION
Life Drawn Purposefully
This is a truly life changing experience. During this time, we will uncover your life’s path, from spiritual, relationship and occupational pathways. Together we will discuss the blockages in your way, and identify the life cycles that you are inhabiting. The major questions we may tackle in this session? What is my real purpose in life? How do I achieve my career goals? What are my challenges and what are gifts? This session is designed to give you specific steps to create the life you want.

"We may endure hurts so great, that the pain of simply acknowledging them seems insurmountable. The Universe, however, is efficient for our present lives. We have each been given exactly the people and situations designed to help us learn and grow. When we acknowledge the beauty of our experience, we can see that our souls gleam as brightly as any star."
